Meet our Teachers

KL Kuttāb is blessed with excellent teachers, all who have considerable teaching experience and educational backgrounds in the study of sacred texts and normative Islam. 


Imām Bashir Castiñeira 

The former Imam and Khatib of Granada's Mosque. He graduated in Quranic Studies from the University of Qarawiyyin in Fez. A Ḥāfidh, he has been teaching our inaugural cohort the Quran as well as an adapted version of Sharḥ ʿAqīdah al-Awām by Sayyid al-Mālikī and Matn al-Akhdarī. He teaches Quran, Arabic and Islamic Studies for the Octagons.

Ustādha Raidah Shah Idil 

After graduating from the University of New South Wales, Ustādha Raidah studied Islamic Sciences with traditionalist teachers abroad, specializing in Shāfiʿī jurisprudence. She completed her Diploma of Counseling and worked for the SeekersGuidance Q&A service. She continued her studies with Shaykh Masood Yusuf and Ustadha Mariam Bashar. She currently works with Shaykh Hamza Karamali and is a certified Basira Education teacher trainer. She teaches Islamic Studies for the Hexagons and Decagons.

Ustādha Sadia Yaqub

Originally from Sudan and a native Arabic speaker, Ustādha has thirteen years of experience teaching Arabic and the Quran at the Itqan Integrated Montessori School. She also teaches many children privately in their homes. She is well-renowned for her engaging personality and excellence with children. She teaches Arabic for the Hexagons.

KL Kuttāb benefits from the help of young teachers-in-training who assist our teachers. We also have kind, warm staff members who care for children during program hours.

Ust. Muhammad al-Aydarus

Muhammad studied at IMAS (International Modern Arabic School). He was also a student at Itqan and studied the Quran and Arabic privately with our very own Ustādha Sadia. He has traveled to Jordan, Egypt, Qatar and his country of origin, Yemen. He is passionate about helping children at the Kuttab excel and grow while also having fun. He assists our Hexagons. 


Ḥāfidh Yousuf Sarfraz

Yousuf is of Indian descent, but grew up in Malaysia. He memorized the Quran over 9 years alongside his academic studies at Itqan Integrated Islamic School, where he studied basic fiqh, ʿaqīdah, and tajwīd. Notably, he was Ustādha Sadia's former student! He is currently studying Computer Science at Monash University Malaysia. in his free time, Yousuf loves sports and playing chess. He teaches Quran and serves as KL Kuttāb's program manager. 

Raja Azaredani a.k.a King

King is the caretaker for Mukha Ba. He is a hands on individual with a background in food and beverage management and logistic inventory. He has  more than a decade of experience with more than a decade in daily operational administrations. Currently he manages Mukha Ba daily operations as well as assisting in the administrative side.
