We accept students on a rolling basis for the 2025 school year. Students who join mid-term will be charged pro-rated fees, provided space is available. Families may choose which classes to enroll in, including our core curriculum (Quran & Islamic Studies), Arabic, Islamic Studies for Teens, Mat Pilates, Wrestling, and/or Calligraphy.
Admission Process
To apply, parents are required to:
1. Carefully review the contents of this website.
2. Complete the registration form (available below).
3. Notify us via WhatsApp once the form is submitted and include the bank receipt for the deposit fee.
Our administrative team will review all applications and schedule interviews with prospective parents.
Priority Admission
Priority is given to:
• Returning students and their families.
• Families committing to attend for the entire year.
• Siblings of current students.
If space is unavailable, your child will be placed on our rolling waitlist, and we will offer seats to those waitlisted as they become available.
If your child is admitted, you will receive an admissions letter via email along with an invoice.
Accepting the Offer of Admission
Parents must confirm their child’s enrollment by:
1. Paying the full tuition OR arranging a monthly payment plan with our team.
2. Submitting tuition fees for the term by the due date. (Refer to our academic calendar for payment deadlines.)
Here’s the updated version with a grievance procedure added, following best practices for Islamic weekend schools:
KL Kuttāb is a not-for-profit, parent-led grassroots initiative. Tuition and fees are calculated based on operating costs, and we rely on parents to sustain the Kuttāb by adhering to tuition policies and payment deadlines. However, we understand that life circumstances may require parents to withdraw their child from the school. Below are the terms for withdrawal, refund policy, grievance procedure, and additional notes regarding admissions:
Notice of Withdrawal
Parents may withdraw their child from KL Kuttāb by providing school administrators with at least 30 days’ noticebefore the end of a term. Notice must be submitted via email to kl.kuttab@gmail.com.
Refund Policy
Refundable amounts, if any, will be processed without interest and must be claimed by the parent or legal guardian within one (1) year from the date the child ceases to be a student at the school. After this period, unclaimed refunds will be forfeited.
Neurodivergent Students
KL Kuttāb values inclusivity and welcomes neurodivergent children to apply for admission. However, we currently do not have the resources to provide special accommodations, such as shadow tutors or individualized support. Admission for neurodivergent students will be considered on a case-by-case basis. To ensure the best fit for the student and the school, there will be a trial period during which our teachers will assess the child’s ability to adapt to and benefit from our programs.
School-Initiated Withdrawal
KL Kuttāb reserves the right to require the withdrawal of a child at any time for reasons including, but not limited to:
• The child’s inability to participate in or benefit fully from the school’s curriculum.
• Serious breaches of conduct by the parent or child that compromise the school’s environment or values.
Grievance Procedure
KL Kuttāb strives to maintain open communication and transparency with all parents and guardians. If you have a concern or grievance, please follow the steps below to ensure it is addressed effectively and in a manner aligned with Islamic principles:
1. Step 1: Direct Communication
• Parents are encouraged to first address their concern with the relevant teacher or staff member involved. This allows for a direct resolution and fosters mutual understanding.
2. Step 2: Escalation to Administration
• If the concern remains unresolved, parents may escalate the matter to the school administrators by emailing kl.kuttab@gmail.com or contacting the admin team directly. Please provide a clear and detailed account of the concern.
3. Step 3: Mediation Meeting
• The administration may schedule a meeting between the parent(s), the teacher or staff member involved, and a senior administrator. The goal is to mediate and find a fair and equitable resolution that prioritizes the child’s best interest while respecting the school’s values.
4. Step 4: Final Decision
• If the issue cannot be resolved through mediation, the school administrators will review the matter and issue a final decision in writing. This decision will be communicated to all parties involved.
KL Kuttāb is committed to handling all grievances with professionalism, respect, and adherence to Islamic ethics.
